Failure is the best teacher

Failure is the best teacher

As I thought about the title to this piece, a lot of things came to mind to share. I put together the words and more ideas came however whatever makes it’s way in here is what is best to teach, to share and to aid you on your path to growth.

Failure is a word that is hated by everyone. No one likes to fail especially in this competitive world we live in. Even people who poorly prepared for tasks, or exams or competition usually love to excel somehow. However to pass when you are half baked is to walk through life blurry eyed. How would your blurry eye serve you?!

I loved winning right from when I was a kid. I was that child who would fight with someone if they did better than me at a game or playful sport. (Laughing) I remember my siblings would be like Gosh, “Aishah you don’t have game spirit”. I used to take losing personally because I believed that to be successful, you had to only win.

Life taught me that the real success is in winning despite having tasted failure for failure forces you to tap into the strength WITHIN which you always had. My love for success made me a slave to others; it opened me up for ridicule, bullying back then in high school, and suckling up to jerks who appeared to be friends and barely ever cared about me.

However I was too scared of standing alone so I held on even though I was constantly thrown in traumatic relationships by virtue of this. The day I decided to walk alone for as long as I could to find my people was the day I moved towards TRULY succeeding for success is born out of not just a dream but actionable steps in the direction of your dream. You have to be willing to walk the journey alone till you get to the destination where you would definitely find those who were supposed to be with you. The efforts invested helps you appreciate the good when you finally get it.

I have failed at many things that I believed myself to be good at. I have succeeded at things I know myself to suck at. I have had to repeatedly walk through certain doors yet taken new lessons everytime I was made to walk through those doors again. And each time I kept wondering when the ease was going to come.

Even as I write this, I am still looking forward to the day I can finally touch my dreams and say, “I MADE IT, I DID IT!”

However, no matter how long it might look, no matter how many times you fail, however bad you might feel; hold still and NEVER give up on yourself

I am sure you too have had your fair share of failures and you are probably now saying, “I think this is a cue to stop”, I beg to differ, the failure is a sign that there is good in that thing so hold still and keep working on yourself and working towards attaining success in whatever task you would love to be known for.

Success comes when preparation meets opportunity and you have to tap into that opportunity.

The pain from the failure and heartbreaks are there to serve you and strengthen you. They are there for you to ride with to get to your destination. They are there to help you build your endurance and resilience muscle so as you journey towards success and growth,  focus on what is on the inside of you. Love you, cherish you, and honor you. The determination and mental strength cultivated during these periods of hardship are some of the gifts the failure came to adorn you with.

No one has the right to rob you of your self-esteem and honour so quit letting them because you are too scared to embrace growth by experiencing discomfort. Know that success lies beyond the door of your most uncomfortable experience.

I have decided to get to my chosen dream destination NO MATTER WHAT or die trying and you need to make this decision too, TODAY. Your journey towards success begins the day your intent to touch your dreams becomes NON NEGOTIABLE.

Embrace failure and stop giving it power over you. A WARRIOR is not scared of the jungle so step into your full strength as nothing that was meant to miss you would meet you. Endure the pain and grow whilst riding on it’s back to experience healing and growth.
